My name is Mr. Ron Girton and I will be your school counselor this year as you begin your journey through high school. I am  located in the school counseling office, if you need to speak with me please email,call or set up a virtual appointment. I will respond in a timely manner.
 
WELCOME to a new school year,  a FRESH start, a new beginning. Welcome to HIGH SCHOOL! You are now officially a High School student, I know that many of you thought this day would never come. You have been in school for 9 years now and are entering your final four years. Your in the home stretch!  You are about to take the first step into
your future. A future that is as awesome as you want it to be.
 
Up until now you have done your best each year to move on to the next grade ahead. Things are different now. Your not just working towards passing the 9th grade, you are working towards setting goals for your future and earning credits towards graduation. The decisions that you make today WILL impact what happens tomorrow. We will work together this year to set goals for your future years at SHS as well as your future career goals.
 
I am excited to have the opportunity to work with all of you this year and look forward to helping you prepare for a successful high school career!
 
It may seem like a great distance and an uphill climb to achieve your goals, but take one step at a time and you CAN make it there!
